Herstory:

Hermanas Unidas was first established at UC Berkeley in 1994 with five women named Zuleyka Heredia, Ricki Robles, Amelia Schustz, Erica Solorzano and Bernadette Vargas. They were the first to create a Chicana/Latina organization on campus. This organization was created in order to find a home away from home, while providing academic and community resources and a family networking system through a basis of three pillars: academics, community service, and collegiate networking.

Hermanas Unidas was established at Cal Poly Pomona in 2006 with the help of seven lovely ladies that were dedicated to receiving adequate resources on campus. Throughout the years, HaU has reached to 19 different chapters/campuses all across California and only continues to grow. "From the Bay to LA, from the OC to SD"

Our Mottos:

"Poder de la Mujer" is what all hermanas strive to embody as an individual and as an organization.  This motto symbolizes the strength and drive within every hermana on their quest for higher education, the empowerment of their families and communities, as well as equality in education, the workplace and the rest of society.

"Once an Hermana, Always an Hermana!
